Philosophy
My education philosophy is that teachers and parents have to work together to build a nurturing learning environment for the student. When teachers and parents are on the same page and communicating with each other then the student can feel more confident and know that they have a strong support system to back them up. Teachers need to take a balanced approach to education and know when to use the different types of instruction in the classroom. They need to be knowledgeable about their students and all their different needs. In this way only will they know what kind of instruction to give and in what areas need developing. To obtain this knowledge different types of assessments must be given. Along with formal assessments (standardized) teachers need make sure to do informal assessments such as using rubrics, checklist and students examples to get a real idea of how a student is thinking not merely what they know and don't know.
